About-Us

 Publisher's letter

We founded The Information in late 2013 with a simple idea: write deeply informed articles about the tech industry that you won't find anywhere else.

Since then, we've moved the markets, made billions of dollars in acquisitions, and told you what's going on inside companies like Apple, Facebook, and Google. Our stories have been followed by The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Bloomberg, and other major outlets thousands of times. How to compete is simple. We hire the best reporters, give them the freedom to write about important issues, and ask them not to sweat over the little things.

Since our articles are well-informed and deeply written for an engaged audience, they pack a real punch. Our coverage of venture capital classified terms and what they mean to employees has changed the way some investors and companies approach those deals. More than a hundred publications have cited our Project for the Future on the lack of diversity among technology investors.

Quality stories generate good subscribers. As our subscriber community grows, we are investing heavily in our team and reporting. We think this format is more scalable than traffic or conference dependency, and it's 100 percent fully compatible with our readers.

Unlike most other news sites, we do not have venture capital or corporate owners. I own the post. Like other publications, we sometimes deal with companies we cover, such as sponsoring events. These do not affect coverage.

If you have any questions about us, our business, or our team, we'd love to hear from you at tariqjam168@gmail.com. Thank you for your interest in what we build.
